TikTok user LayLoo posted the video, asking viewers, “What is this object near the moon?”
The video quickly garnered five million likes. While one object remains stationary in the roughly 30-second clip, a smaller object can be seen disappearing behind the moon. The location of the video and whether it was edited remains unclear.
Commenters shared their opinions on the mysterious objects. One TikTok user suggested that the moon is a space station used by extraterrestrials for spying on Earth.
Another viewer questioned the zoom capabilities of the phone used to capture the footage.
Multiple sightings of unidentified flying objects (UFOs) in North America have led to investigations by the Pentagon to determine if they are evidence of extraterrestrial visits or something else.
However, last year’s investigations yielded no conclusive evidence of alien visitation, according to Ronald Moultrie, undersecretary of defense for intelligence and security.
General Glen VanHerck, overseeing North American airspace, has also refrained from ruling out extraterrestrial origins for the objects shot down by US warplanes.
In a separate incident, Poland’s defense ministry reported a UFO entering Polish airspace from Belarus a week earlier.
