Government spokesperson Shahbaz Gill dispelled the impression of government serving as a moral police for women and asked TV anchor Gharidah Farooqi to “start wearing short dress” assuring her of his support on the move.
He was speaking during a TV talkshow hosted by Mehar Bukhari.
It started when Gharidah pointed out that the government was no one to object to women’s dressing and bar female teachers from wearing jeans at educational institutions.
Gill said the government had never done so and suggested the anchor to turn up in short dress of her liking, while assuring her of his “complete support” in this regard.
