Newly-appointed Pakistan team captain, Babar Azam, has reportedly made it clear to the team management that Sarfaraz Ahmed will not be a part of his playing XI in One-Day and T20s.
According to journalist Yahya Hussaini, Babar has clarified that Muhammad Rizwan, who was recently tested negative for coronavirus, has been called to England and he will serve as the wicket-keeper.
The snub, if Hussaini’s revelation is to be believed, given to Sarfaraz may further dent confidence of Sarfaraz who was recently removed from captaincy and later dropped from all formats of the game over ‘lack of form’.
The decision by the PCB to give cold shoulder to Sarfaraz drew stern criticism and the ex-skipper was eventually named in the team squad for England tour.
Pakistan will play three Test matches and 3 T20s against England from July 30 to September 2.
