Pakistan Stock Exchange comes under terrorist attack – forces say ‘attack foiled’

Security forces on Monday (June 29) have foiled an attack at Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) in Karachi and killed all four terrorists. Three people including one policeman have also embraced martyrdom in the incident.

According to details, four terrorists hurled hand grenade at the PSX building and opened indiscriminate fire by using automatic weapons, martyring one officer and two other people.

Receiving information about the mishap, contingents of Rangers and police arrived at the scene and killed all four terrorists in retaliation.

The area was cordoned off for clearance operation.

Sindh Inspector General Mushtaq Ahmed Mahar has sought report of the incident from provincial deputy inspector general (DIG) South.

Meanwhile, Sindh Governor Imran Ismail has also condemned the incident.

How it all started?

The police said that two men came in a car near the building’s entry point and tried to enter it. They, however, were stopped by the security guards after which they threw a hand grenade at them.

Immediately after the attack, police and Rangers reached the site and cordoned off the area. The security personnel vacated the building. The bomb disposal squad has reached the site too.

The Sindh Rangers have said that all terror suspects involved in the attack have been killed, adding that a clearance operation is underway.

Four bags have been seized from the terrorists which included four SMGs, hand grenades, weapons, water bottles and dates.
