Minister Fawad Chaudhry says will not attend NA session after parliament staffers contracted coronavirus

Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry has decided to not attend the parliament session in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.

The federal minister said in his statement that a virtual session of the National Assembly should have been summoned due to the epidemic as results of ‘direct session’ have started coming.

Fawad Chaudhry said, “Many parliamentarians have been tested positive for COVID-19 in one week. We should not stop taking precautionary measures.”

Earlier, the minister took to Twitter and told that he has taken the decision after some NA members and staff tested positive for novel coronavirus.

“I have been insisting on NA session through video link since day one. The parliamentary committee made an unwise decision over the opposition’s pressure and put the national political leadership in unnecessary danger.”
