Khalilur Rehman says his new drama will expose mafia behind ‘Mera Jism Meri Marzi’

Famous drama writer Khalilur Rehman Qamar is apparently fighting a lone battle after he hit out at former journalist Marvi Sirmed in a live TV show over ‘Aurat March’.

Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar stirred up a hornet’s nest when he lashed out activist Marvi Sirmid in a live programme after she apparently provoked Qamar while he was making a comment on women empowerment and its parameters.

Khalil said on Twitter that he was receiving pressure from national and international figures to apologise to Marvi Sirmed. He said ‘it is a mafia that is behind foreign-funded feminists launched in Pakistan.’

On live television on March 3, the Meray Paas Tum Ho writer got into an ugly spat with a participant in a talk show on Neo TV.

To be sure, Khalil-ur-Rehman was carrying on with his bit of conversation before he was interrupted by Marvi Sarmad, a former journalist, triggering the extremely short-fused writer with a slogan of the upcoming Aurat march he had previously taken issue with: mera jisam meri marzi.

Khalil-ur-Rehman lost his cool as he got into a spat with Marvi, using choice expletives like ‘b****’ and ‘ulloo ki pathi’ for the woman.

Qamar, recently appeared on a TV channel to discuss the concept of much-hyped drama, Mere Paas Tum Ho, and during the interview, he made a remark that raged a few on Twitter.

To a question by host Ahmed Ali Butt, Khalilur Rehman quoted a line: “Aurat Fitratan Bewafa Nahi Hoti, Aur Jo Bewafa Hoti Hai Wo Fitratan Aurat Nahi Hoti.”
