Congregational prayer offered for the ‘first time’ inside Pakistan’s Parliament

ISLAMABAD: Perhaps for the first time, a congregational prayer was held by the lawmakers inside the National Assembly on Wednesday (March 6).

Before prayer was led, Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-F lawmakers sought permission to present a resolution condemning Federal Minister for Water Resources. The Speaker Asad Qaiser rejected the demand.

The lawmakers gathered in front of speaker’s rostrum and started protesting. Later, they  offered prayer which was led by JUI-F Maulana Asaad Mehmood. Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz lawmakers also attended the prayer.
